NORTH JACKSON, Oh. (May 31, 2016) – Second generation racer Jack Sodeman Jr. entered wing and non-wing sprint car competition during the recent holiday weekend, scoring two top-five finishes, including a victory at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver on Friday night, May 27. Sodeman’s victory at “The Action Track” was his first of 2016, raising his podium total to two at Lernerville this season. Despite the point championship not being on his original season agenda, Sodeman Jr. currently sits second in the track championship chase, trailing Scott Priester by six markers.

Along with his victory, Sodeman finished fourth during Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (B.O.S.S.) non-wing sprint car action at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, May 28. The former B.O.S.S. main event winner was the only non-wing regular to finish inside the top-five, bettering most of the talent-filled roster.

“We really enjoy the diverse schedule. It gives us something extra to look forward to,” said Jack Sodeman Jr., pilot of the familiar Glassmere Fuel, Economy Tooling, PRS Transit, Townsend Gas & Oil, Inc., Butlerbuilt, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, Simpson Race Products, Triple X Race Components, No. 23JR. “To get that first victory means a lot. People always say that the first victory is always the hardest. I am a firm believe in that, so to get that first win of the season is really special. We’ll work to repeat this Friday night.”

Jack Sodeman Jr. will continue his 2016 campaign this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 3-5, with a Pennsylvania triple-header. The North Jackson, Ohio, native will make his routine visits to Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park on Friday and Saturday, followed by a trip to the Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway in Bedford, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, June 5. The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will host competition at the Bedford half-mile, awarding $5,000.
