NORTH JACKSON, Ohio (September 28, 2016) – Adding to his already impressive season in Western Pennsylvania, earning track championships at Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park, Jack Sodeman, Jr. has officially clinched the 2016 #1 Cochran Cavalcade Points championship.

With points earned during all local, regional and national events in Western Pennsylvania, as well as the immediate surrounding areas, Jack Sodeman, Jr.’s 2016 campaign consisting of nine victories was dominant enough to solidify the championship. The North Jackson, Ohio, native captured six victories at Mercer Raceway Park, as well as three victories at Lernerville Speedway.

“Feels pretty good to earn the Cavalcade championship. It pretty much puts the exclamation point on our entire season,” Jack Sodeman, Jr. explained. “I’m proud of my team and I am proud of our efforts all year long. We still have some racing left. I think we have room for another win or two. That would be the best way to move into the off season.”

Jack Sodeman, Jr. will move ahead and prepare for the rescheduled “Racers Request 20” at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway; a $2,000-to-win/$200-to-start program moved to Saturday, October 1, due to Mother Nature.

During recent 410 sprint car competition, Jack Sodeman, Jr. joined the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at Lernerville Speedway for the Commonwealth Clash. The Lernerville Speedway champion qualified for the main event, finishing 18th officially.

“We had a good car the entire night,” Sodeman said. “All in all, we were pretty happy with our performance against the Outlaws. Obviously, we wanted to finish higher in the running order and contend for a top-ten, but the car was balanced and very driveable. We’ll take those results and move forward.”
