Saturday it was once again off to Sharon were the week before Sodeman took his first checkers of the year. The pill draw once again saw Sodeman starting 6th in his heat race. Sodeman battled with Mike Kekich and Bob Felmlee lap after lap and made it up to the second spot.
The redraw saw an invert of 10, Sodeman would start 7th in the feature. Sodeman would quickly make passes on Mike Kekich, Australian Matthew Reed, and race for a few laps with Youngster Danny Holtgraver then make the pass. Lap cars would come into play as Sodeman wasn't able to make the challenge to pass Bob Felmlee for 2nd place leaving the 23jr in the 3rd position .
